IWEC


Estos días he tenido el gran privilegio de participar en la 6ª edición del IWEC (International Women'sEntrepreneurial Challenge). La Iwec es una red global para mujeres de negocios con proyectos y empresas en mercados de todo el mundo. IWEC es una iniciativa de la Cámara de Comercio de Barcelona, la FICCI ( Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce), la cámara de Comercio de Cape Town y la colaboración del departamento de estado de US. Pero sobre todo hay  detrás un grupo de mujeres que han tirado adelante para que IWEC sea y siga siendo una realidad.
El leitmotiv de toda la conferencia escogido fue “ Força” y desde luego todas esas mujeres estaban cargadas de Fuerza , ganas y entusiasmo!
Me gustaría compartir de forma quizás un poco desordenada algunas frases , conceptos , ideas que me lleve del IWEC :

  • “Live is too short to pospone your dreams”
  • “Everyday is a learning and a teaming experience”
  • We have structural challenges ( labour market, pensions) we have to think about how are we going to change economy in order that numbers are sustainable
  • The speed of change is getting faster.
  •  Importance of education, and having a vision and a real passion
  • There is a huge convergence nowadays, however there are still huge cultural diferences
  •  Network!!
  •  Build loyal ( long term) management team.
  • Ability to respond. ( be proactive)
  • It’s a small world
  •  Don´t asume anything.

Mike Rosenberg

  •  Remember the past
  • See the future ( scenario planning)
  • Know your business: key partners, key resources, channels, revenue streams, customer segments, customer relatioships, value proposition, key activities.
  • Never understimate the power of denial
  • Deal with complexity.

A.Garrigues-Walker:
  • Never trust a men.
  • Spontaneous collaboration of free man and woman creates things
  •  5 reasons to be optimistic:
    • Fonts of communication
    • Healthy community
    • Green energy
    • There is a look for a better future
    • Woman
  • The growth of Africa is in the hands of woman
  • Technology and science will determine the future.  Importance of the role of women in the technological and science world. Quota system.
  • We do not have the right to be pesimistic. We need to have a positive attitude.( not even optimist but  at least positive). As a general rule women are more positive than the women
  •  Global mindset: see the world round, we are terrible local . We need to respect other cultures.
  • Importance of Ethical values:
    • We can not spend much more of what you have.
    • All bubbles explode
    • Without ethical values growth can no t be sustainable

Ruth A Davis:
El discurso de la embajadora Ruth A Davis fue sin duda uno de los mejores. Habló de liderazgo y de las diferencias entre liderar y gestionar:
Principles of Leadership:

    •      Have a visión ( where you are going)
    •     Have humility. Engage your subordinates
    •     Select great team

The difference between leadership and management:

    •    Management: doing the right things; Leadership: doing the things right.
    •    Management: coping with complexity; Leadership : coping with change
    •    Managers: plan; Leasers: create a visión, dream
    •    Managers: resolve problems; Leaders: Focus in inspiring and motivating

Hablaron también otras muchas personas: La profesora Nuria March del IESE; Robert Jones, US commercial Service, Juan Maria Nin, presidente de la Caixa;  se hablo de programas de mentorizacion, de iniciativas y programas para dar soporte a mujeres emprendedoras … En resumen una iniciativa 10 y la oportunidad de conocer y compartir en el “one to one” con mujeres de éxito y gran nivel .
